From basic to custom beauty: Ashley Furniture

How I turned this Basic Ashley Furniture into a custom beauty

An Ashley Furniture set was posted for FREE in a local facebook page and I was surprisingly the first to comment & get to it! (Which is rare!)

When I commented; I had no idea how much this furniture originally was! But that’s part of the thrill of the hunt!

The dresser alone retails for $800; but I also got the chest of drawers which retails for $900! So I ended up with about $1800 of furniture for FREE!

They both had child locks on them which I had to pry off. They even had screwed some stuff into the side of the dressers. I couldn’t imagine doing that to furniture I paid that much for!

I used my favorite wood filler to fill in some holes & minor damage to the dresser; scuff sand the pieces; including the adhesive from the child locks off, & painted it this beautiful green color.

I added gold handles instead of the knobs that it came with & think it made the piece look completely different!

I ended up selling this set for $600 which was my largest profit to date at the time! What a STEAL!

Do you like the new look? Would you of done anything different?
